Today is World Mental Health Day!
This is an opportunity for all of us to raise awareness of mental health issues and the help and support available to those who might need it.
All students have access to our wellbeing team who are able to offer support and guidance to students should they need it - https://ecs.page.link/B2zvA and today our Sixth Form Team are raising money for mental health charity YoungMinds by taking part in their #HelloYellow campaign.
Another fantastic way to get support with your mental health is by talking to someone. Twice a week, Miss Reece runs Crochet Club in the LRC offering students the chance to be creative whilst chatting to each other.

It was lovely to see so many students take part in our Maths Department's quizzes on Open Evening.
There were so many close answers in the 'Sweets in the Jar', but the correct answer was 88. The winner goes to Hampton Primary School, you can collect your prize from HBHS on Monday.
In the 'Guess the smallest unique number' competition, the rules were:
1. Your number must be positive
2. Your number can't be 0
3. Your number must be an integer (a whole number)
The person with the smallest unique number wins!
We had 23 people take a chance and guess 1, hoping that no-one else would try it, however, the winning number was 6! Well done to Theo from Swalecliffe Primary School, you win a scientific calculator!

Thank you to all our local families who came to visit our Open Evening last night. We hope you enjoyed your time with us and found your visit worthwhile.
If you would like to see the school on a normal school day when lessons are happening, we would like to invite you to join us for one of our Open Mornings on Tuesday 8th, Thursday 10th and Friday 18th October. There is no need to book for these, simply arrive at the Bay Arena entrance to the school at 09:00am on the mornings and a member of our team will be able to show you around the school.

Here at Herne Bay High, we place a lot of emphasis on the Wellbeing of our Students. At the start of the academic year we were pleased to introduce our Student Safeguarding, Attendance and Wellbeing Team, along with our new House structure. This helps us to provide a more supportive and nurturing environment for our students.

Wondering about our Banding Assessment?
It's not a test! But is an essential part of our admissions process and helps us to place your child in a class with those of a similar ability when they join us.
If you are considering Herne Bay High School for your child's secondary education, you will need to register them for the Banding Assessment at https://ecs.page.link/2CC4n

Another fantastic win for our Year 7 Netball team last Thursday as they played against Canterbury Academy and won 21-6!
Superb play from all, well done Stevie-Rose, Taylor, Ella, Sophie, Maia, Taya, Tallulah, Annabelle, Bella and Evie.
This week they face Simon Langton Girls School.

Another well done to our Year 7 Netball team who won their second game of the season 15-1 against Queen Elizabeth's last week.
Mrs Ferreira says they are improving with each training session and working really well as a team.
