This annual event brings together schools, organisations, families, and communities to talk about how young people use the internet – what they enjoy, what challenges they face, and how we can help them stay safe and make positive choices online.

This week we are supporting and promoting Children’s Mental Health Week. This year’s theme is “This is My Place”, focusing on belonging, inclusion and feeling safe and supported in school.
This week strongly aligns with our ongoing CASS work around wellbeing, safeguarding, attendance and inclusion. During the week, we're encouraging
mentor time and classroom conversations about belonging and support, as well as reminding students about places they can go in school and trusted adults they can speak to if they may be struggling.

Last night we were pleased to host our CASS Recognition Awards. This event serves to recognise those students who contribute positively to school and community life, regardless of what personal challenges they might be facing.

A group of Year 8 students involved in the STEM Horizons project visited Canterbury Christ Church University yesterday where they took part in a range of workshops and got to tour the fantastic facilities in the Science, Technology, Health, Engineering and Medicine building.
They investigated animal behaviour using choice chambers, looked at how different pieces of equipment are used in the training and testing of athletes and viewed different materials under the scanning electron microscope, as well as testing the tensile strength of different materials.
It was a fantastic visit and everyone returned to school excited about one of the areas they had learnt about.

Today, the Visual Arts department took their A Level students to take part in a still life drawing workshop and campus tour at University for the Creative Arts - UCA, Canterbury.
Students were introduced to the various degree options on offer and informed about various creative careers. They were then guided through various drawing and painting techniques working from a visually dynamic and colourful collection of still life objects.
Our students felt inspired and thoroughly enjoyed this university experience.

Today, our Year 10 students visited the University of Kent where they were given the chance to conduct light microscopy in the Bioscience Undergraduate Teaching Laboratories.
They were also given the opportunity to visit the Confocal Microscopy Facility and the Tissue Culture Facility to see how else Microscopy can be used.
They posed some excellent questions for the lecturers and student ambassadors.

Huge congratulations to Year 8 student Esme H, who won the 2025 MFL Christmas Advent Calendar Competition.
Her entry was truly outstanding, featuring Spanish numbers, chocolates, and Bible verses written in Spanish - and it even lights up!
The creativity, effort and attention to detail shown in this project were exceptional, and her commitment perfectly demonstrates our school value of dedication.
Well done - a very well-deserved win.
