Herne Bay High School is a large hugely successful Single Academy Trust that serves the Herne Bay coastal area of North Kent. We have a comprehensive intake and are significantly oversubscribed in all year groups and in June 2022 Ofsted rated the school good with an Outstanding 6th form provision

Whilst academic rigour and examination success is at the forefront of our development, we passionately believe that a broad, balanced approach to education is important and as such we place great emphasis on the Creative and Performing Arts, Technology, and Sport as a key part of a young person’s early educational journey. Reset Room Manager

Up to £23,000

Join Our Team as a Reset Room Manager 37 hours per week, Term Time + 5 days Salary: HBHS Band 6 (£22,818 – £24,843) Are you passionate about supporting students to reflect on their behaviour and engage positively in school? What “Term Time Plus” Means This role follows the school calendar: you work during student term time plus an additional 5 days for training, preparation, or key school events. Your salary is pro-rata but paid evenly over 12 months, giving you consistent monthly pay while enjoying more time off during school holidays — supporting a better work–life balance. Why This Role Matters As Reset Room Manager, you will oversee the smooth running of the Reset Room, providing a calm, supportive environment where students reflect on behaviour, complete work to expected standards, and engage with interventions designed by the pastoral team. Your work will directly impact student behaviour, learning, and wellbeing every day. What You’ll Do Student Support & Wellbeing Build positive relationships with students to support reflection and engagement Supervise students in the Reset Room, helping them complete work and maintain focus Provide reflective opportunities and pastoral support as appropriate Calm & Safe School Environment Ensure safety of students in the Reset Room and around the school Participate in duty rotas and on-call support during lessons, unstructured times, and key points of the day Address behaviour incidents calmly and consistently, following school procedures Operational & Pastoral Duties Maintain clear routines and expectations in the RESET Room Identify barriers to student reintegration into lessons and report to Heads of Year/School Support OPS students from partner schools completing their sanctions Keep the Reset Room organised, welcoming, and conducive to learning Training & Professional Development Undertake training in first aid, fire marshalling, and other relevant school duties What We’re Looking For Someone who is: Calm, confident, and resilient Naturally great with young people A clear communicator with a supportive approach Energetic, proactive, and able to adapt to changing situations A team player who thrives in a pastoral setting Keen to undertake training and develop within the role What You’ll Gain A rewarding role with daily impact on students’ lives Training and development opportunities A supportive, dedicated pastoral team A varied role full of meaningful connection and responsibility To apply or for more information, please send your CV to jemma.lowry@hernebayhigh.org. Although you do not work all year round and your salary reflects this, your salary is spread evenly over 12 months, giving you consistent monthly pay while enjoying significantly more time away from work during school holidays. This structure offers the stability of set hours alongside a healthier work–life balance than a typical full-year role — perfect for those who value both meaningful work and personal time.
