We are excited to share that our Term 5 charity initiative will be supporting RNLI Whitstable Lifeboat Station — a vital local service that helps keep our coastline safe. They will be in school all next week delivering house assemblies to students about their important work.
To raise funds, we will be holding a raffle, with tickets priced at just £1 each. Please send your child in with their raffle money next week so they can take part. Every ticket sold goes directly toward supporting the RNLI’s lifesaving work.
We are incredibly grateful for the generosity of our local community. Thanks to the support of many wonderful businesses, we have an impressive range of raffle prizes up for grabs!

Well done to the Year 7 Rounders team who had their first fixture against Queen Elizabeth's Grammar this week.
Both teams played with such good spirit and sportsmanship. It was a lovely game to watch and we narrowly lost by 3 rounders.
Mrs Ferreira is very proud of our Year 7 girls and with only one training session together they worked well as a team and performed at their best.

Year 12 students took steps towards their future at Canterbury Christ Church University on 7th May!
The day was all about independence—navigating the campus, making choices, and diving into exciting academic sessions tailored to their interests.
From networking in the marketplace to tackling real-life challenges like food budgeting, students explored key life skills. They also engaged in interactive sessions covering everything from the creative industries to criminal justice, science, and healthcare. Whether examining crime scene evidence in a vehicle or practicing life-saving techniques in the Health Simulation Suite, they gained invaluable hands-on experience.
A huge thank you to the welcoming university staff for an insightful and inspiring day!

Today in Maths, our students explored the fascinating world of the Enigma machine and its role in World War II. They even got hands-on experience by creating their own shift ciphers, writing and decoding secret messages to each other. A fun and educational way to dive into the basics of cryptography.

We'd like to say a big thank you to Herne Bay Crematorium for their generous donation of £500 towards the development of our Wellbeing Garden.
Mr Boyes and Mr Beeson had the honour of receiving a cheque from Crematorium Assistants Marie and Natasha last week.
This donation will help the continuing development of a natural space which promotes positive physical, mental, and emotional health and wellbeing for our students.

Our Year 10 students visited the University of Kent last Thursday to take place in their "Who Killed Sherlock Holmes?" workshop.
The students carried out PCR and Gel Electrophoresis techniques, and used their analysis of the DNA fingerprints they produced to identify the murderer from the 3 suspects.
All of the students were great ambassadors of our school and we were very proud of all of the skills they were able to develop.

Our year 12 Biology students returned to the University of Kent yesterday to take part in day 2 of the GENE project.
They modified a nanobody which could be used in a diagnostic test for the Covid virus. They then further developed their skills of carrying out SDS PAGE to see if their procedure had been successful.
We look forward to completing the project in our final session in July.
