We're supporting Strode Park Foundation's Christmas Jumper Day next Friday, 8th December.
Students will be able to wear their favourite Christmas jumper with their school uniform in return for a £1 donation.

Last week some of our Yr9-13 Drama students participated in a professional theatre workshop with The Paper Birds Theatre Company.
Students were able to explore devising techniques that the company used for their theatre show ‘Feel Me’, which the Drama department then took them to see later that evening.
The show was interactive where the audience used their phones throughout to make decisions or share opinions on the show. Paper Birds use a mixture of live performance, film, projection, dance and music with some really interesting use of live footage to capture specific moments in the piece.

Today is Protecting our Planet Day. Powered by STEM Learning our Science department are hosting a variety of sessions throughout the day for students to engage with ways to protect our natural environment for the future.
So far this morning, Year 11 students have learnt about protecting our earth from the team behind BBC's Planet Earth, whilst Year 7 have heard from researchers in both polar regions about how important Ice is to our planet and how we can all work to protect it.

Our Year 7 Football Team continued their unbeaten run yesterday with a 7-1 victory against Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School, which sees them progress to the quarter finals of the Kent Cup.
A huge well done to all the boys for their great attitude and togetherness throughout.

Last Friday, some of our senior students attended a Coastal Alliance event at Swalecliffe Primary School.
They worked with children from Year 2 through to Year 6 from a variety of local Primary Schools and discussed what factors effect 'healthy living'. Throughout the morning, they helped to run a number of activities, including getting the children to write about what they think having a healthy lifestyle is like and ways we can improve our physical and mental health.
This was a great opportunity to work alongside the younger students and help develop their ideas and opinions surrounding this topic.

Our Year 10 and 11 girls football team have progressed into Round 5 of the English Schools National Cup after beating Bennett Memorial Diocesan School in Round 3: 9-0 and Oxted School in Round 4: 6-2.
They have now made it into the last 32 schools in the country. Well done girls!

This week has marked the start of alternative games for our boys’ extra-curricular fixtures. We had students at The Whitstable School participating in climbing activities, and we welcomed Barton Manor School, Barton Court Grammar School and St Anselm's Catholic School to HBHS for laser tag games.
The focus this term is around participation, fun and enjoyment and the first round of fixtures certainly had this! Well done all.

Last week, some of our students took part in the Big Explore, organised by the EKST Partnership, at the Pines Calyx in St Margaret's Bay.
Students took part in yoga, foresting for natural food, shelter building, plus they also learned how to light a camp fire safely.
