Huge congratulations to Year 8 student Esme H, who won the 2025 MFL Christmas Advent Calendar Competition.
Her entry was truly outstanding, featuring Spanish numbers, chocolates, and Bible verses written in Spanish - and it even lights up!
The creativity, effort and attention to detail shown in this project were exceptional, and her commitment perfectly demonstrates our school value of dedication.
Well done - a very well-deserved win.

Last Wednesday, our Food Technology department held their Gingerbread House Decorating Competition.
There were some excellent entries, judged by Mr Boyes, with Sophie and Violet's attempts being crowned the winning Gingerbread Houses.

Over 40 Drama students took part in a Professional Actor Workshop in the Bay Theatre recently. They all experienced various elements such as screen acting, creating an advert, challenging tasks that you would normally see in audition workshops and an insight into the acting industry.
Georgie, who ran the workshop said that this was her favourite school she has ever worked with, so a big thank you to all the students for being themselves and showing respect. Feedback from the students was extremely positive.

Kent County Council's Family Hubs have some fantastic winter activities happening this month, along with two new courses starting in the new year.
Stepping up is a 5-week activity-based course to encourage and support children aged 5 to 8 with confidence, socialisation and managing in a group. This group focuses on emotional regulation and managing and understanding emotions and feelings.
This will be starting on Monday 12th January 2026, 4:00pm - 5:30pm at Wincheap Family Hub.
Understanding your Child is 10 week course for parent/carers that would like to know more about sensitive and effective parenting. It explores parenting styles, communication and understanding your child’s behaviour.

As Christmas approaches, we have two important dates/times for your diary:
Our Christmas Jumper Day for Years 7-11 is on 18th December – this is an opportunity for students to wear a Christmas Jumper with their normal school uniform (Students must still have all their uniform, including their blazer with them).
Our last day of Term 2 is Friday 19th December and students will be released at 12.10pm on that day.

Our A Level Visual Arts students took part in a shoe design workshop this week, led by Sih Yu, university tutor at University for the Creative Arts - UCA, and shoe designer.
Sih Yu’s career spans from working for DKNY through to design studios in Taiwan. Students learnt about the process of shoe design and various pathways into the fashion design industry. They created their own designs and considered their shoe brand identity.
The workshop was very Informative and inspiring and gave students creative career insight.

Our Year 8 girls netball team competed in the District Netball tournament yesterday afternoon.
These girls have made Mrs Ferreira so proud this term, they listen to instructions given, they are kind to each other on and off the court, they all personally developed in each game as the tournament progressed, and they gave everything.
All their effort and dedication paid off as they won the tournament and are now the District Netball Champions. Congratulations Girls!

Wildwood Kent recently had the pleasure of presenting an engaging assembly to Year 7 students.
They explored the wonders of wildlife, conservation, and the importance of protecting our natural habitats, along with the different skills and Students learned how every small action can make a big difference for the planet. Year 7 learnt about employability skills needed within this sector and the different range of jobs available.
A huge thank you to The Wildwood Trust and the Year 7s for their enthusiasm and curiosity.
