A huge thank you to Annabella Coldrick from MMF (Music Managers Forum UK) and to Futures For All for arranging a fantastic talk for our Sixth Form Media and Politics students on Friday.
Annabella shared her incredible journey, from working in commercial and public affairs at Cadbury in the chocolate industry to leading in the music world as CEO of the Music Managers Forum and reminded us that careers aren’t always linear.
With a love for music, Annabella studied Law, History, and Politics at A-Level and now champions the voices of over 1,400 members at MMF- administrators, negotiators, communicators, and enablers who shape the music industry.
Thank you, Annabella, for showing our students that innovation, advocacy, and resilience can take you anywhere!

And they're off!
Our students from Herne Bay High Dance Academy are dashing around 10 local schools today performing their Dance Dash to raise money for BBC Children in Need.
After weeks of rehearsals and a week of performing in House assemblies, today is the culmination of all their hard work.
If you would like to watch them perform and donate some money to their collecting buckets, they will be in Mortimer Street at 12 o'clock.
We wish them all the best for the day and can't wait to see how much they raise!

A group of our Year 10 students got to learn about the Physics of bridges by taking part in a whole day activity run by AECOM on Wednesday.
They had the opportunity to learn about tension and compression, and the materials used to build different types of bridges. Students then applied their Physics and Engineering knowledge working as a team to build a cable stayed bridge which was strong enough for them to walk over!
Great work Year 10.

Yesterday our Year 13 Alternative Routes PSHE class had the privilege of welcoming Chris Targett from CXK who delivered two dynamic and interactive workshops designed to help students explore their career options.
Chris emphasised that no two journeys are the same, inspiring our students to think beyond traditional paths and discover the many exciting ways they can achieve their goals.

Kent County Council's SEND Information Hub is hosting a SEND roadshow for the Canterbury District on Tuesday 9th December at the Whitstable Family Hub from 09:30 until 11:30.
If your child has special educational needs and/or disabilities and would like to know more about the services available to you, this is the perfect opportunity!
There is no need other than book, just simply turn up.

This week is Anti-Bullying week and we're using our #PowerForGood to help our young people to safely speak up and raise awareness when they see bullying, either face to face or online.
We operate a zero tolerance approach to bullying at Herne Bay High School and will always react quickly when we receive reports of bullying. Students can report bullying to any adult in school and we even have a dedicated email address they can use to report bullying.

During the first weekend of half term, Mr Buchanan and Miss Gentry from the CASS Team took a group of students on a Residential Wellbeing Trip to Quex Park, which was a huge success.
Students took part in a range of outdoor activities, team challenges and wellbeing sessions, all designed to boost confidence, resilience and positive relationships. The atmosphere was fantastic throughout and the students represented the school brilliantly.
It was a truly positive experience for everyone involved.

Kent Family Hub are working with SEND specialists, Early Help and other support organisations to provide information, advice and support for all SEND children regardless of diagnosis.

On Tuesday, our Year 13 English Literature students had an exciting opportunity to attend a live performance of Twelfth Night at Shakespeare's Globe in London.
As one of their set texts, this experience brought the play to life, allowing students to explore the play's themes, characters, and comedic elements in its original setting!
