Movement, Music and Men's Mental Health: New Evening Event Brings Community Together in Support of Men Struggling Right Now

This November, a powerful new evening event will bring together dance, live music and grassroots community groups to open up conversations around men's mental health — and to show, in the most direct way possible, that no man has to face what he's going through alone.

The event uses performing arts as its beating heart. Original dance and music pieces — created and performed by various local artists and community groups, will explore themes of masculinity, connection and vulnerability, giving audiences a way into conversations that can be hard to start with words alone.

Alongside the performances, local groups supporting men through football, walking groups and peer-support activities will be on hand throughout the evening — sharing practical, low-pressure ways for men to connect, get moving, and find support in their own communities.

The evening will also spotlight the vital role that the women in men's lives — partners, mothers, sisters, friends, colleagues — play in supporting men's wellbeing. The event will make the case that understanding between men and women isn't just good for men — it's good for everyone: better relationships, stronger families, healthier communities.

All tickets to the event are £5, and audiences will have the opportunity on the night to donate in support of Mind, the mental health charity.

HBHS and Mind and Body Kent, hopes the event will reach men who might not otherwise engage with mental health support, using the shared experience of watching live performance to open doors that a leaflet or a poster never could.

“We wanted to create an evening where men could come along, watch something powerful, and realise they're not the only one finding things hard right now. And we wanted the women who love and support them to be part of that too".
