On Friday 15th October, Year 8 students had the opportunity to walk in the footsteps of history. Reviewing the steps of Thomas Becket and Henry II that led to Becket’s brutal murder.
A guided tour around the Cathedral offered them an opportunity to experience their learning in a real way. Standing where Becket fell, exploring the crypt where he was laid to rest, following pilgrims on their knees and viewing priceless 1000-year-old artefacts.
As well as learning about the 50 seater ‘necessarium’ (a monastic privy) and it’s secret location with the Cathedral grounds - few get to see its location!
