We'd like to say a big thank you to Herne Bay Crematorium for their generous donation of £500 towards the development of our Wellbeing Garden.
Mr Boyes and Mr Beeson had the honour of receiving a cheque from Crematorium Assistants Marie and Natasha last week.
This donation will help the continuing development of a natural space which promotes positive physical, mental, and emotional health and wellbeing for our students.

Our Year 10 students visited the University of Kent last Thursday to take place in their "Who Killed Sherlock Holmes?" workshop.
The students carried out PCR and Gel Electrophoresis techniques, and used their analysis of the DNA fingerprints they produced to identify the murderer from the 3 suspects.
All of the students were great ambassadors of our school and we were very proud of all of the skills they were able to develop.

Do you need help understanding your child’s needs? Do you want to meet other parents/carers of young people with SEND? Canterbury District STLS are working in close conjunction with the Family Hubs to provide Information, Advice and Support for all SEND children regardless of diagnosis.

Our year 12 Biology students returned to the University of Kent yesterday to take part in day 2 of the GENE project.
They modified a nanobody which could be used in a diagnostic test for the Covid virus. They then further developed their skills of carrying out SDS PAGE to see if their procedure had been successful.
We look forward to completing the project in our final session in July.

During the Spring Term, Crochet Club have been busy making Mothers' Day cards, baskets, ducks and even spring fashion.
Next term we will be working with granny squares and making bags, cushions and blankets. New members are always welcome. In the LRC after school until 4pm every Thursday and Friday lunchtime in Lecture Theatre.
If anyone has any balls of Double Knitting Yarn that they are not using, we would love to make use of them in Crochet Club.

We take safeguarding very seriously at Herne Bay High, and the safeguarding and wellbeing of our students is paramount to everything we do. This doesn't stop just because it is the school holidays.
