Library Honours for Mrs Kelleher

The school is very pleased to announce that our LRC Manager, Mrs Kelleher, has made the Honours List in the 2019 School Librarian of the Year award.

The award, organised by the School Library Association, is a very prestigious honour that recognises the excellent work that is carried out in school libraries every day and highlight the best practice of those whose work is outstanding.

Mrs Kelleher said "I'm really proud of the LRC here at Herne Bay High and I love being the librarian here. To be honoured in this way is very humbling and I'm thrilled to have made the top three."

Speaking after the announcement, Sue Baston, Chair of the SLA selection committee said "The Honour List this year are a remarkable set of librarians. They have come through from an extremely strong field and the judges have had very difficult decisions at each stage. These school librarians are leaders in the field and exemplars for the profession."

The honours list also includes librarians from independent schools in Chester and Kingston and all three will be invited to the awards ceremony in London on 27th June, where the School Librarian of the Year 2019 will be announced.
