‘1918’ Girls Theatre Company have been working with GOLKK who are a Physical Theatre company to produce a curtain raiser called ‘Overdrive’.
GOLKK performed their own show ‘Rest[less]’, which is a non-narrative piece, exploring the dangers of burnout through the lens of a hive which inspired the girls' piece. Throughout the workshops, GOLKK gave insight into physical actor training where the girls collaboratively devised their piece using practical and imaginative exercises.
‘Overdrive’ was inspired by the pressures on teenagers and young adults in a school setting. Congratulations to all of the girls involved and thank you to GOLKK for their continued support with projects here.
