Following another year of examination turmoil with the late introduction of Teacher Assessed Grades (TAGs), we are thrilled at the performance of all Herne Bay High Schools 255 Year 11 GCSE students. Their dedication, commitment, and sheer determination to be successful has paid off with so many outstanding outcomes.
Mr Boyes has said “I am truly thrilled for all of them after such a difficult 18 months, they thoroughly deserve the opportunities they have earned. We are going to be welcoming back a record number into the hugely successful Herne Bay High Sixth Form. For those that are now able to progress on to different destinations, I wish every one of them the very best for the future”
Students across the ability range have made excellent progress and have been rewarded and there are many examples of students achieving the very top grades of 9 & 8. We are so pleased at the year on year improvements and can announce that nearly 50% of students achieved at least FIVE Grade 9 to 5’s (A* to B) and over 70% at least FIVE Grade 9 to 4’s (A* to C). These outcomes are the product of their hard work, tenacity and resilience.
These results will prove the springboard for our students to progress onto the next stage of their educational journey, whether as one of the vast majority of students staying on into the school’s outstanding sixth form, or whether it be moving to another educational institution, or into a training position.
These Year 11 students have not only achieved a super set of exam results, but they have also gained so much more during their time at Herne Bay High School; whether in the fields of sport, the visual or performing arts, supporting charities or undertaking community service. They should be very proud of themselves and we wish them all the very best for their future.
