We are delighted that the hard work and commitment of our students has resulted in them achieving an impressive set of GCSE and BTEC results, which compare favourably with last year’s results.
Mr Boyes, Herne Bay High School's Principal stated, "I am particularly pleased with these results, given the additional challenges our students have faced in terms of the academic rigour of new specifications and the increased number of examinations they have had to deal with. It is testament to the hard work of our staff and students to achieve such impressive results and I am sure that their parents, families and the wider community of Herne Bay will want to join me in congratulating them all.”
The school is delighted that in both English and Mathematics, over 55% of the cohort achieved good GCSE passes, demonstrating development within the school’s new infrastructure and pastoral system. Impressive results have also been achieved across a wide range of courses, including Maths, RE, Drama, the Arts, Dance, and Sport.
As a school, we have seen some amazing individual grades as well as exceptional performances from the following students, who have achieved a significant number of the highest grades including; Rebecca Davies gaining 5 grade 9’s and 2 Distinction*’s, Jack Yeatman gaining a grade 9, 4 grade 8’s and 3 grade 7’s and Maisy Stevens gaining 2 grade 9’s, 3 grade 8’s and 2 grade 7’s.
The progress made by our students was particularly pleasing, notably Thomas King, Annabelle Askew and Kirsten House who all achieved significantly above their targets. Over 98% of our students achieved GCSE qualifications.
Mr Waters, the School’s Vice Principal for Outcomes, stated, “I am impressed with the results we have achieved this year and congratulate everyone for all their hard work in reaching these outcomes. We will continue to build upon our successes to ensure that every student has the opportunity to achieve their very best”
We are once again looking forward to welcoming back the vast majority of our year 11 students into our outstandingly successful sixth form.
