We were privileged to be joined yesterday (Thursday 9th) by established composer, arranger and producer David Lowe. David has created music for news, current affairs, factual, wildlife and entertainment programmes for all major UK networks.
A range of students from Year 7 – 13 were delighted by David’s stories and antics of his career path and journey and were given the opportunity to ask probing questions and explore his passion of music indents and stings in more depth.
Whilst our school community was excellent at Name the Theme Song, it was our 6th Form students who produced headlines and read them alongside David’s iconic BBC News soundtrack. Our A Level Media students particularly found his presentation of the process of receiving a brief, then collating music, graphics and themes, fascinating as this is mirrors their examination coursework process.
David’s overarching advice through his talk was to network, communicate with honesty and sincerity and working hard. Success isn’t always immediate and to persevere and be resilient and go after your goals.
