Herne Bay High School is pleased to announce it's 24-hour charity challenge event for 2020
As has become the tradition each March, our team of 40 staff members and 20 students will be attempting to keep each gym machine moving for 24 hours; with this year's challenge taking on very ambitious targets.
Our gym bike will be covering the distance from London to Paris (344km); the rowing machine will be crossing the Channel and back a total of eight times (265km); the cross trainer will be ascending and descending Everest ten times (177km); whilst our runners will cover the distance of four marathons on our treadmill (169km).
The challenge will kick start at 1:00 pm on Thursday 12th March, during lunch in the Covered Courtyard and will be streamed live here on our website so you can follow our progress for the next 24 hours. We are hoping that by one o'clock on the Friday lunchtime we will have successfully completed all the challenges and raised lots of money for our chosen charities, which this year are Alzheimer's Society and Sport Relief.
