‘1918’ Girls Drama Company took part in the march to celebrate International Women's Day on Friday 8th March, as part of the POW! Thanet festival.
The march started at Margate train station and finished at Turner Contemporary where the celebrations continued.
Leading the march was the artist Jessica Voorsanger with Suffragettes on stilts! Jessica encouraged the creation of the banners by two of our A-Level Art Students - Eve Williams and Daisy Lamming.
Placards were held high from the girls throughout the march to motivate spectators to join in with their chanting and singing. Miss Stockley, director of 1918 said: "the theme of EMPOWERMENT was celebrated and inspired all who took part."
