YR6 SPORTSHALL TRANSITION EVENT
This event is taking place at Herne Bay High School on Wednesday 7th December (PM) and is an opportunity for Year 6 students to mix with Year 7 HBHS students to allow them to feel more confident about the transition from primary to secondary school.

We are looking for one primary school to take part in this event which is aimed at pupils who find it difficult to connect with group tasks and work with others. Through this event we are looking to develop teamwork, cooperation and leadership using Sportshall Athletics activities.

Your school can bring up to a maximum of 15 students, ideally targeting the least active CYP.  Please let me know if you would like to take part – first come first served.

WAKE & SHAKE FESTIVAL
We will update you on the venue for this festival, which will take place on Wednesday 14th December, as soon as we can. I have made a few enquiries but really struggling to find a venue so if anybody has any suggestions then please let us know – we would need a stage and parking and the budget is limited!

YR2 BASKETBALL DEVELOPMENT FESTIVAL
We hope the schools that participated in this festival before half term enjoyed the event and your pupils are keen to try out their new skills.

GOLF FOUNDATION – SCHOOL SUPPORT 2023 AND BEYOND
Below are some initiatives that the Golf Foundation have asked us to share with you:

Golf Is Ours

  • “Golf is Ours” is all about making the sport more accessible to young people - introducing more primary school children from all backgrounds to golf and creating a generation that owns and loves the sport.  Join our new primary school campaign today, and we will help you to introduce your pupils to golf in a fun, safe and inclusive way.  There is also the opportunity to WIN a visit to your school from Sky Sports Golf presenter Nick Dougherty!
  • For more information and to sign up please visit: https://www.golf-foundation.org/schools/golf-is-ours/

National Primary Schools Programme

  • This Programme is designed to make the introduction of golf to young people fun, inclusive and enriching. The adapted equipment is bright and colourful, big and bold, so that pupils achieve success straight away. Sessions are taught through a series of lively team games suitable for a school hall, playground or field. The activities can be adapted to the ability of the pupils. Life skills are taught through our games and encourage pupils to think how they can use these skills away from the playground.
