Canterbury City Council is inviting families to come along to their free summer family event where they will get to try a range of sports including rugby, football, judo, taekwondo, boxing, wrestling, cricket, wheelchair rugby, combat archery and more.
The event aims to encourage active lifestyles and greater well-being through sport and is open to all abilities and ages from four to 18 years old.
There will be organisations from the Blue Light services, food and drink options, as well as health and well-being and community safety stalls to take any of your questions.
The event is taking place on Saturday 12 July 2025 between 10am and 4pm at Canterbury Rugby Club.
A free bus service will run every 30 minutes from 9.30am from Canterbury Bus Station to the rugby club, and the last bus leaving the rugby club will be 4.30pm.

Our Art department have recently been hosting a competition for students in Years 7, 8 and 9 and they would like to invite you to an exhibition of the work on Monday 16th June, after school in our bright and airy Art area.
This is a fantastic chance to experience some of the wonderful work our students have produced.

We'd like to congratulate Year 10 Epple student William on his recent success in the KEGS Trophy competition at Upchurch Golf Course.
Out of 33 competitors, William won the event, and is the youngest player to ever win the competition!
A huge well done, William, and we all look forward to what you will be doing next.

On Sunday 15th June, our Year 12 Sport Studies students will be headlining the volunteering, along with some dinosaur friends, at Whitstable junior parkrun as part of their 'Organising an Event' unit of work.
If you have a child in your life aged 4-14 who would like to support our students in their studies, please do consider taking them along to the Tankerton Slopes on the 15th (remember to register them for a parkrun barcode first if they don't already have one).
We'd like to wish our Year 12s all the best for this.

Yesterday, our Year 12 students had an incredible opportunity to explore their future at the UCAS Discovery Fair! From engaging with university representatives to discovering a wide range of courses and career paths, our students made the most of this informative and inspiring event.
A huge thank you to UCAS for hosting such a fantastic fair and to our dedicated teachers for organising this enriching experience. We can't wait to see where our students' journeys take them next.

Introducing Sports Day 2025!
Our PE Department is excited to announce that Sports Day will take place on Friday 27th June this year, involving all students from Years 7-10, as well as our sixth form sport studies students..
During their house assemblies this week, students will be introduced to how sports day works, our expectations of them on the day, and how they can earn points to help their house win the trophy this year.
We're really looking forward to the day and watching our students compete in the events.

Our Visual Arts department are pleased to announce that three of their sixth form students have been successful in art competitions this year.
Year 13 student Caitlin will see her work exhibited at the Royal Academy of Arts as part of their Young Artists Summer Exhibition. We have only ever had one other student successful in reaching this prestigious show, where her work was eventually purchased by a member of the gallery staff!
Meanwhile, Year 12 student Pearl will see her work exhibited at Turner Contemporary in Margate over the summer, as part of their Portfolio Exhibition 'Force' for 2025; and Year 13 photography student Morgan, sets his work into Turner Contemporary's Force competition final.
Congratulations to all our artists on their success, we hope you are able to go along and support their work.

As part of our ongoing support for our Young Carers, a trip was organised to Wildwood Kent in Herne. We were kindly joined by Tina Culver from the Young Carer's charity Imago Community who was able to chat with our students during the visit about their caring roles. The students enjoyed being out in the fresh air for the morning taking notice of all the wildlife in the park.
